How she got name ‘Amma’ ?
In present times, Mayawati is called Behenji while Mamata is Didi for her supporters – both meaning sister. It is only Jayalalithaa, who is called ‘Amma‘ – the mother. Why?
In Tamil tradition, if people give high respect to their woman and if woman is in public sphere, then she got more respect. Jayalalithaa was a very good leader and she used to do good work for their people, that is for the higher respect she got this name ‘Amma’ – refer as mother. After 2011, Jayalalithaa started to build Brand Amma. Jayalalithaa launched a series of pro-poor schemes giving a message that she was there in the chief minister’s office for the welfare of people like a mother. Brands like Amma Canteens, Amma Salt, Amma Pharmacy, Amma Cement, Amma drinking water were launched.
Because of some health issues she had to go hospitalized and now she is RIP. All leaders should be like her and should learn from her causes.
Deeply shocked to hear about the diminish of Jayalalithaa. She was one of the influential and a good leader. May her soul Rest In Peace….
